{Waiting on Wednesday #14} Dividing Eden - Joelle Charbonneau

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week my Wow is a book that I've already pre-ordered: Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau:

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Testing trilogy comes a sweeping new fantasy series, perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard and Sarah J. Maas.
Twins Carys and Andreus were never destined to rule Eden. With their older brother next in line to inherit the throne, the future of the kingdom was secure.
But appearances—and rivals—can be deceiving. When Eden’s king and crown prince are killed by assassins, Eden desperately needs a monarch, but the line of succession is no longer clear. With a ruling council scheming to gain power, Carys and Andreus are faced with only one option—to take part in a Trial of Succession that will determine which one of them is worthy of ruling the kingdom.
As sister and brother, Carys and Andreus have always kept each other safe—from their secrets, from the court, and from the monsters lurking in the mountains beyond the kingdom’s wall. But the Trial of Succession will test the bonds of trust and family.
With their country and their hearts divided, Carys and Andreus will discover exactly what each will do to win the crown. How long before suspicion takes hold and the thirst for power leads to the ultimate betrayal? [Goodreads]

I honestly don't know why I'm so excited to read Dividing Eden, that I've even pre-ordered it already. I mean I read the Testing series by Joelle Charbonneau and I thought it was okay, not amazing, but an overall good read (with an annoying protagonist and some plot holes, though). The story, however, sounds so fascinating (I love stories about power, monarchy...) that I simply have to read it. I really hope it lives up to expectations.

Do you know this book and do you want to read it? What you you think about the cover? I'm still not quite sure if I love it or hate it. I love the chair aspect, but hate how the title looks like... x'D

  1. I saw this one on Edelweiss! I'm curious because it is fantasy and I love fantasy... but I've not read anything by this author so I'm not sure. I'll wait until early reviews start to pop up. The cover is so gorgeous. :D I hope you love this book when you get the chance to read it!

Have a fabulous week, Maura. =)
